COVID-19 & ISO 9001 Standard

COVID-19 is one of the most frightened and dangerous diseases among others in the world pandemic history. The world is trying its best to get free from this deadly virus. This tiny virus reminding us that the world did not do enough research against the virology science in last 100 years after Spanish flu. Even no effective corrective actions was taken against  SARS in 2002 and MERS in 2012 outbreak. The negligence of that task has brought the world in this present situation. 

The most developed countries have invested a lot in arm industry for killing people but they did not invest enough money to save people's life. Even the health system is not enough strong in their own territory to save their own people's life. Frequently coming news about lacking of ICU and ventilation system in the hospitals is the proof of that. 

The developing country's health system is more vulnerable and miserable condition.  Bangladesh is a country of 160 million people has only 1169(432 Govt 737 Private) ICU beds throughout the country according to the news of Dhaka Tribune. Until 15th June 2020 the total infected by coronavirus is  90619 and total death is 1209. It is growing daily.

According to the ISO 9001:2015 Standard companies or government agencies or ministries should think the possible risk in their respective department and effective risk minimization plans and measures should be taken against those risks. So, it is time for all countries about adopting ISO 9001 standard in their system to develop the quality management system.

ISO 9001 standard shows the solution of any problem raised in the system. So, if you describe the present coronavirus issue it can be solved in the following way:

If any incident or nonconformity(NC) happens in the system of any organisation correction, corrective action and preventive action should be taken against that NC. After taking correction it is necessary to find the root cause for taking corrective and preventive action against that incident. 

After getting information from various newspaper including  International Medical Aid about the origination of coronavirus is bat or seafood market. So, let bat is the source of coronavirus.

If you say the spreading of coronavirus is a NC then according to ISO 9001 guidelines we can solve the issue in the following way:

CORRECTION: (Taking instant action to correct the problem)World Health Organization (WHO) has prepared the health guidelines and shared it to all countries for stopping spread this deadly virus in human body. At the same time wet or sea food market in Wuhan of China should be shut down.

CORRECTIVE ACTION: Before corrective action (CA Plan) you need to find the root cause of coronavirus.

ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS( By using 5 WHY ANALYSIS TOOL)

Question 1: Why Coronavirus came in to human life?

Ans1: People of China got this virus from the Bat and spread among others.

Question 2: Why they got it from Bat?

Ans 2: They sell bat in the open market without any restriction.

Question 3: Why they sell it in the open market?

Ans 3: The Chinese government has no control to buy-sell wild animal and bird in open market without checking the health hazard. 

Question 4: Why Chinese Government has no control to sell and buy wild animals and bird in the open market?

Ans 4: The world/UN has not introduced yet any such restrictions or rule for China or other countries around the world for wild animal or bird selling/buying/eating guidelines.

CORRECTIVE ACTION: The world/UN/respective department of UN will create wild animal or bird selling/buying/eating guidelines within a year and will share it China to follow the rules.

Or if already there is any rule it will be reviewed and developed newly to protect the human life from the contamination of wild animal or bird,

PREVENTIVE ACTION: This rule can be shared to all other countries where wild or sea fish are sold and bought  by the world health organization/ respecting world organization to resist the spread of  infection in human body 

Observing the news from various world famous newspapers including science daily that bat is the possible source of spreading coronavirus. We have mentioned that bat is the so called bird for spreading this dangerous diseases and it happened in Wuhan City. It is not yet proved officially. But it is very much important to find the root cause of this pandemic diseases. China should assist experts from various countries to access the venue to conduct research against the source of this dangerous and deadly virus coronavirus.

Though some countries are telling that this virus is generated in Chinese lab but we need  evidence of that verse. In this regard China should grant access the UN research team in China to investigate the issue.

It is very much important to find the source of this virus. It should be done without any delay. This issue can be discussed in United nation security council and general council. UN is the right international organization to come ahead to do this job.

The world is in great risk. So, there is no scope to wait anymore. Just only for one country the other all countries are paralysed and in distressed condition. China should compensate the whole world. US president and German president already claimed compensation for the creation of this deadly virus in China. I think their claim is logical and authentic. Not only America and Germany but all countries should claim the host country for compensation.

 If we can find the root cause of transmission of coronavirus in human body then it will helpful to resist further infection of covid-19 to the human body. So, taking effective corrective action it is very much necessary to find the root cause of generation and transmission of COVID-19.
